Apple fritter bites evoke a sense of nostalgia, especially in the fall when apples are fresh. The warm, inviting aroma reminds me of my grandmother's kitchen and draws everyone in.
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
In another bowl, whisk the eggs and milk. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then gently fold in your diced apples.
Scoop spoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let them cool a little before serving!
For a deep-fried version, heat oil in a deep pan to 180°C (350°F). Make your batter as described earlier and carefully drop spoonfuls into the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they’re golden and crispy.
Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Notes
Tip: For fluffy fritter bites, avoid overmixing your batter and ensure the oil is at the right temperature.
