Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring Spoons

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 400 g Canned tuna drained
  • 100 g Breadcrumbs light binder
  • 1 large Egg beaten
  • 30 g Green onions finely chopped
  • 15 ml Soy sauce optional
  • 30 ml Mayonnaise for spicy mayo
  • 5 ml Hot sauce to taste for spicy mayo

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, chopped green onions, and soy sauce. Mix gently to form a cohesive mixture.
  • Form the mixture into uniform patties. Lightly spray each patty with oil to help with browning.
  • Place the patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring space between them. Air fry at 180°C for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  • While the patties are cooking, prepare the spicy mayo by whisking together mayonnaise and hot sauce to reach the desired heat level.
  • Once cooked, let the tuna cakes rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Serve with the spicy mayo on top or on the side.

Notes

Tip: For extra crunch, lightly dust the cakes with fine crumbs or panko before air frying. Don't overcrowd the basket for the best results!
