  • 1.5 kg Beef brisket about 3-4 lbs
  • 30 ml Olive oil for searing
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 250 ml Beef broth
  • 100 g Brown sugar
  • 60 ml Apple cider vinegar
  • 15 ml Worcestershire sauce
  • 5 g Smoked paprika about 1 tsp
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 150 °C.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season the brisket with salt and pepper, then sear it on all sides until browned.
  • Transfer the brisket to a roasting pan and layer the onions and garlic on top.
  • In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and smoked paprika.
  • Pour this mixture over the brisket.
  • Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake for 3–4 hours, or until the brisket is nice and tender.
  • Remove from the oven, let it rest for 15 minutes, then shred it with forks.

Notes

Tip: Make sure to let the brisket rest before slicing to ensure a good sear. You can also cook it a day ahead; just reheat it before serving.
