  • 500 g Minced chicken
  • 50 g Breadcrumbs can swap with oats for gluten-free
  • 1 piece Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 15 ml Olive oil for cooking
  • 200 g Yogurt for sauce, choose low-fat if desired
  • 1 piece Lemon juiced
  • 5 g Fresh herbs parsley, mint or cilantro, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine minced chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, and fresh herbs. Season with salt and pepper. Mix gently to combine.
  • Chill the mixture for about 10-15 minutes in the fridge to help it hold together.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.
  • Scoop portions about the size of a small ping-pong ball and shape them into kofta.
  • Arrange the kofta in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving some space for airflow.
  • Cook for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 74°C before serving.
  • For the yogurt sauce, mix yogurt with lemon juice, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt. Stir well.
  • Serve kofta hot with the garlic yogurt sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

Tip: Don't skip preheating the air fryer, and avoid overcrowding the basket to get that perfect crispy kofta!
