Chicken shawarma is a tasty, spice-forward dish that brings together warm flavors with bright garlic and lemon hints. It’s comforting, full of flavor, and surprisingly easy to put together on a weeknight.
Toppingscucumber, tomato, red onion, fresh parsley
Instructions
First, preheat the air fryer to 200°C. Mix the chicken with olive oil, shawarma spices, and minced garlic; season with salt and pepper, then let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Place the seasoned chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until the internal temperature reaches 74°C. After removing it, let the chicken rest for 3–5 minutes.
Warm the pita briefly, spread on the garlic sauce, and fill it with the hot chicken and fresh toppings for a vibrant wrap.
To make the garlic sauce, whisk together yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Add tahini if desired. Adjust thickness with water.
Notes
Tip: Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to ensure optimum crispiness. Always check doneness with a thermometer.
