Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 500 g Chicken thighs boneless and skinless
  • 30 ml Olive oil 2 tbsp
  • 15 g Shawarma spice blend 1–2 tbsp (cumin, coriander, paprika, garlic powder, cinnamon)
  • 2 Garlic cloves minced
  • 120 ml Plain yogurt or dairy-free yogurt
  • 2 g Lemon juice 1–2 tsp
  • 2 Pita or flatbreads for serving
  • Toppings cucumber, tomato, red onion, fresh parsley

Instructions

  • First, preheat the air fryer to 200°C. Mix the chicken with olive oil, shawarma spices, and minced garlic; season with salt and pepper, then let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Place the seasoned chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until the internal temperature reaches 74°C. After removing it, let the chicken rest for 3–5 minutes.
  • Warm the pita briefly, spread on the garlic sauce, and fill it with the hot chicken and fresh toppings for a vibrant wrap.
  • To make the garlic sauce, whisk together yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Add tahini if desired. Adjust thickness with water.

Notes

Tip: Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to ensure optimum crispiness. Always check doneness with a thermometer.
