Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Spatula

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 120 g Cream cheese softened
  • 28 g Shredded cheddar cheese or pepper jack
  • 2 slices Bread your favorite
  • 1 piece Jalapeño thinly sliced, seeds removed for less heat
  • 10 g Butter for frying

Instructions

  • Start by heating a skillet over medium heat. Butter both slices of bread, then spread cream cheese on one slice and sprinkle with cheddar.
  • Add the jalapeño slices, top with the second slice, and press gently.
  • Cook for about 3–4 minutes per side until the outside is golden and the cheese melts inside. If needed, cover the pan for a minute to help the cheese melt through.
  • Let the sandwich rest for a minute before slicing to keep the filling from spilling out.

Notes

Tip: Use butter or a high-smoke-point oil on the outside and cook gently over medium heat to achieve a crispy exterior.
