  • 250 g All-purpose flour for fry bread
  • 5 g Baking powder for fry bread
  • 1 g Salt for fry bread
  • 150 ml Water for making dough
  • 400 g Ground meat or beans for topping
  • 100 g Chopped vegetables like lettuce or tomatoes
  • 50 g Cheese shredded, for topping
  • 10 ml Sour cream optional topping
  • 10 ml Salsa optional topping

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add water to form a soft dough.
  • Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, then let it rest for about 10 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into portions, shape them into rounds, and flatten them to about 1 cm thick.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 200°C. Place the dough rounds in the air fryer basket and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden and crisp.
  • Once cooked, layer the fry bread with your choice of meat or beans, chopped vegetables, cheese, and any additional toppings like sour cream or salsa.

Notes

Tip: Prevent soggy bread by adding toppings in stages and avoiding overly watery ingredients. Also, use well-seasoned fillings to enhance flavor.
