Equipment

  • Heavy skillet
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 450 g Ground beef 80/20
  • 150 g Onion finely chopped or grated
  • 5 g Salt
  • 2.5 g Black pepper
  • 4 units Burger buns
  • 5 ml Worcestershire sauce optional
  • 1.5 g Garlic powder optional
  • 1 slice Cheese optional
  • 50 g Lettuce optional
  • 50 g Pickles optional

Instructions

  • Start by finely dicing or grating the onions and mix them gently into the ground beef with salt and pepper, or create a thin onion pocket in the center of the patties.
  • Form the beef mixture into patties about 2 cm thick, handling them minimally to keep them tender. Chill for 10-15 minutes.
  • Preheat the skillet over medium-high heat to about 180-200 °C. Lightly oil the pan if necessary.
  • Place the patties in a single layer and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until a deep crust forms and the internal temperature reaches 70 °C.
  • If using cheese, add it during the last minute of cooking. Toast the buns in the skillet for about 1 minute until lightly golden.
  • Let the burgers rest for a couple of minutes before serving to allow the juices to settle.

Notes

Tip: For a crispy crust, make sure to pat the patties dry before shaping and cook in a hot, well-oiled pan. Avoid overcrowding to prevent steaming.
