  • 3 cloves garlic minced or pressed
  • 45 ml olive oil for brushing
  • 2 g salt to taste
  • 1 g black pepper to taste

  • 30 g grated Parmesan optional for finishing
  • 1 pat butter optional for finishing

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
  • Remove damaged outer leaves from the cabbage and cut into 1-inch-thick steaks.
  • Brush both sides of the cabbage steaks with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Arrange the steaks on a lined baking sheet, ensuring there is space between them.
  • Roast in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through for even browning.
  • Finish with a sprinkle of chopped herbs or Parmesan and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

Tip: Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure the steaks crisp up nicely. Preheating is essential for even cooking!
