Potato cheese sticks are an enjoyable snack made from simple ingredients: potatoes, cheese, and seasonings. They provide a delightful crunch and creamy interior that makes them a favorite!
Preheat your oven to 200°C for baking, or heat oil in a deep fryer to 175°C for frying.
Peel and boil the potatoes for about 15 minutes until soft; then drain and let cool.
Mash the potatoes until smooth, then mix in the cheese, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper.
Shape the mixture into sticks and coat them in breadcrumbs.
For baking, place on a greased baking sheet and bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden. If frying, cook in oil for 3-4 minutes on each side until crispy.
Notes
Tip: To keep your sticks crispy, avoid making the potato mixture too wet and ensure to chill formed sticks before cooking.
