  • 200 g Long-grain rice white or brown
  • 30 g Butter divided
  • 150 g Onion sliced
  • 500 ml Water or vegetable broth for flavor

Instructions
 

  • Melt 30g of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Toss in the sliced onion and cook until golden and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  • In a pot, combine 200g of rice and 500ml of water. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook: 18 minutes for white rice or 45 minutes for brown rice.
  • Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork, stir in the caramelized onions, and add an additional tablespoon of butter for creaminess. Season with salt to taste.

Notes

Tip: Always rinse your rice before cooking to reduce starch and prevent it from being gummy. Letting the rice rest for 5 minutes afterward improves the fluffiness.
