  • 800 g Potatoes starchy variety, cut into even pieces
  • 30 g Butter unsalted, for mashing
  • 100 ml Milk or broth, warm, for mashing
  • 400 g Ground beef for filling
  • 1 pcs Onion finely chopped, for filling
  • 2 pcs Garlic cloves minced, for filling
  • 50 g Cheese shredded, optional for topping
  • 10 g Fresh herbs for garnish, optional

Instructions
 

  • Boil or steam the potatoes until tender, then drain and return to pot.
  • Mash the potatoes, adding butter and warm milk until creamy, and season to taste.
  • Form the mashed potatoes into small nests on a parchment-lined sheet pan.
  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat with chopped onion and garlic until no pink remains.
  • Spoon the beef filling into each potato nest, shaping lightly to settle it.
  • Top with shredded cheese if desired, and bake until nests are heated through and tops are lightly browned.
  • Allow the nests to rest before serving so that the filling sets properly.
